Idiosync Films makes music videos for independent artists, bands, labels and managers in Dublin and across Ireland, from one-day performance videos to narrative shoots with a full crew. We come from narrative filmmaking, so we treat your video like a short film, with planning, lighting and an edit cut to your track.
Performance videos in a venue, studio or location; narrative and concept videos; live session recordings with multi-camera sound; lyric and visualiser videos; and short vertical cut-downs for Reels, TikTok and Shorts to promote the release.
It starts with a free consultation. We listen to the track, talk through references and budget, and come back with a treatment: the concept, look, locations and a shot plan. You approve the treatment before anything is booked.
We shoot on cinema cameras with Sigma Art lenses, a gimbal for movement and a mobile LED lighting package. A typical shoot has two crew; larger concepts add a gaffer, assistant camera or second camera operator.
From in-camera tricks to compositing in After Effects, we add effects that serve the song rather than distract from it. Every video gets a full colour grade so the look matches your artwork and release.
We scout and secure locations, from studios to rural and coastal sites, and handle filming permissions and any drone flights, which are planned around weather and airspace rules and insured individually.
The edit is cut to your track in Adobe Premiere Pro, with grading and effects in After Effects. Three rounds of revisions are included, and you sign off each stage before we move on. You receive a master for YouTube and streaming platforms plus vertical versions for social.
We produce livestream events and this includes music performances. Live studio sessions can be streamed online to a live audience with live Q&A, comments and interactions for a social experience.
Send us your track, release date and any references, and we’ll come back with ideas and a quote. Most music videos take two to four weeks from first call to delivery, depending on the concept.
How long does it take to make a music video?
Most projects take two to four weeks: about a week to plan, one or two shoot days, then one to two weeks of editing and revisions. Tell us your release date and we’ll plan back from it.
Do you work with independent and unsigned artists?
Yes. Most of our music clients are independent artists and bands. We’ll suggest ideas that look great within your budget.
Can you film a live performance or session?
Yes. We film live gigs and studio sessions with multiple cameras and professional audio, and we can livestream the performance as well.
